Melinda Lira finalist in American Idol 4
Friends and Family,
As many of you may or may not know, I am currently enrolled at Azusa Pacific University studying music as a vocal performance major. It is a very exciting time for me as I have been given the opportunity to pursue my passion for singing and ministry. While studying music here at school I have been given several opportunities to use my gifts in ways that are new and unique.
This brings me to the purpose of this letter. On May 6th -15th the University Choir & Orchestra have been invited to sing and minister in Seoul, SOUTH KOREA on a short-term missions trip! We will be traveling through several orphanages and conventions that are awaiting our arrival, and reaching out to the Korean culture through Music.
Though this is my freshman year, and my first opportunity to travel outside of the country, I am looking forward to joining my fellow students in this special opportunity. As such, I am asking you to pray for:
1.The opportunity to grow spiritually in new ways

Though the University and its partners have subsidized this program, I still need to come up with a portion of the balance. Many of you have already been a great help to me; I will continue to need your prayers.
However, at present, I need your financial support to assure my place on this trip.
I need to raise 600 dollars by March 28, with 300 more dollars needed by the end of the month, each month until the end of April, for a total of $1200.00. I know it’s right around the corner in which you are receiving this and for some this seems like a significant amount, but the Word says faith is dead without action so I’m taking a step of faith so God can make what seems impossible, possible!!!
If you could see your way fit to helping me meet my financial goals you would not only be helping me exercise my gifts in music, but also spreading the word of God and the love of Christ in another land.
